Order details are sent to the OMS, which then determines which warehouse to ship the order from based on the delivery address and item availability from multiple warehouses
Workers collect a specified quantity of items from inventory to satisfy customer orders. Picking can be done manually by using barcodes or picking slips, or automatically with picking robots or machines
Workers separate picked items according to destination. Sorting can occur by hand or with automated soring machines.
Items are packed protectively into appropriate shipping boxes. This step includes weighing packages and labeling them with recipients addresses and any necessary delivery instructions.
Orders are transported to their final destination. Orders can either be shipped directly to the customer, or they might be first consolidated with other orders going to nearby locations
